Congratulations to A.T.D. Perera, Silvia Coccolo, Jean-Louis Scartezzini and Dasaraden Mauree, winners of 2017 Applied Energy ICEA outstanding paper award.

The paper "Quantifying the impact of urban climate by extending the boundaries of urban energy system modeling" was one in 8 out of 800 chosen for an award by the Applied Energy Editorial Board.

The work that caught the jury's interest was presented at the 2017 Applied Energy Conference in Hongkong and described in https://actu.epfl.ch/news/designing-urban-energy-systems-based-on-the-urba-3/.

Urban climate and urban energy systems modelling were linked in the reported research with the objective to increase the efficiency of urban energy management.
