Opening Hours during the Year end holidays

As every year, in order to offer the best possible services to students, researchers and teaching staff, EPFL will remain open during the end-of-year holiday period. As from Friday evening 23 December until Monday evening 2 January, doors will be in “ weekend “ mode (Camipro). All necessary measures for maximum reduction of energy consumption will be taken.
Please be informed that during Christmas and New Year time, i.e December 26th to December 30th, the welcome desk of the Human Ressources department will be opened only on mornings between 8H30 and 11H30.

Accessibility to campus premises and surveillance : from Friday evening 23 December until Monday evening 2 January, doors will be in “week-end” mode (Camipro). Normal activities will resume as from Tuesday 3 January 2017.
Heating : throughout the holiday period, heating will be in “normal” mode.
Security:the DSPS will ensure non-stop service via 115. Security patrols will be extended and the possibility of being escorted to your car in the evening will be maintained (115 or 021 693 3000 from a private mobile).
First aid : non-stop service 24 hours a day : 115 or 021 693 3000.
Student Services : the Student Services desk will have reduced opening hours during the holiday period. From Monday 19 until Friday 23 December open from 9am to 6pm, Monday 26 December the desk will be closed, from Tuesday 27 until Friday 30 open from 10am to 3pm, Monday 2 January the desk will be closed. Normal schedule (9am to 6pm) as from Tuesday 3 January : http://studying.epfl.ch/guichet_etudiants.
Workspaces for exam revision accessible during the holiday period have been reserved and made available for students. A list of rooms and access schedules can be found on http://studying.epfl.ch/revision.
From Saturday 17 December 2016 to Sunday 1 January 2017, and particularly from Monday 19 to Friday 23 December and Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 December, the following services will be available according to their respective schedules posted on their websites :
- IS Service Desk and VPSI essential services: open according to normal schedule (8am – 6pm) from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 December: http://it.epfl.ch;
- Operation support for SESAME applications will maintain a basic service during working days as from Tuesday 27 December. Normal schedule resumes Tuesday 3 January 2017. Details on: http://sesame.epfl.ch http://sesame.epfl.ch
- The EPFL-CWT travel agency will be closed from 5pm on 23 December up to and including 2 January. In cases of emergency only, calls will be diverted and dealt with by CWT’s 24-hr European service: http://voyages.epfl.ch/cwt
- The Research Office will be closed from 5pm on 23 December until 8am on 3 January ;
- The main switchboard will remain open from 7.30am to 6pm on Friday 23, and from 9am to 4pm from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 ;
- A caretaker service will be available from 7.30am to noon and 1.30 to 4.30pm from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 December ;
- The Health Point will be open until 5.30pm on 23 December.Normal schedule resumes as from Tuesday 3 January (8.30 to 11.30am and 12.30 to 5.30pm).
From Saturday 17 December 2016 to Tuesday 3 January 2017, the campus cafeterias and restaurants, including in the Quartier Nord, will be open according to their respective schedules : http://restauration.epfl.ch/horaires.
The RLC reception desk will be closed on 25 December and 1 January.
The Esplanade reception desk will be closed as from Saturday 24 December up to and including Monday 2 January. Reopening: 8am Tuesday 3 January (normal schedule resumes).
Throughout the holiday period, the RLC will be open daily except on Sunday 25 December.
Research units arrange their schedules independently.
Administrative units make their own arrangements, depending on the work in progress.

- Cleaning and caretaker services will be maintained primarily in the following areas : la Méridienne / Centre Est / Centre Midi and the RLC.
- The MA Poséidon help desk will be open until 5pm on Friday 23 December. Normal schedule resumes on Tuesday 3 January. The RLC Poséidon help desk will operate on a reduced schedule from 26 to 30 December (8am – 6pm). Normal schedule resumes on 3 January. The RLC Poséidon help desk is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The Post Office will be open normally until Friday 23 December (9am to 5pm) and then from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 December from 9am to 12.30pm. Normal schedule resumes on Tuesday 3 January (9am to 5pm). At the postal stations, the last distribution and collection of the year will be at 3.30pm on Friday 23 December. No mail distribution and collection from 26 December to 2 January. Normal mail distribution and collection resume on Tuesday 3 January.
Energy-saving measures
All staff members will be made aware of the importance of switching off as much equipment (including computers) as possible and regulating the temperature in unused premises to an optimal level wherever practicable. The caretakers will do their utmost to ensure that these instructions are implemented.

Service des sports UNIL/EPFL : courses end at 10pm on Friday 23 December. The Villa des sports and CSS secretariats will be open from 10am to 12.30pm as from 3 January and then from 1.30 to 3pm until 6 January. Normal schedules will resume as from 9 January. The Dorigny University Sports Centre will be open from 8am to 7pm as from 3 January for individual sports activities. The reduced programme will start on 16 January and end on 19 February : http://sport.unil.ch
