Open Access: new Read&Publish agreements with academic publishers
In the framework of the Swiss national strategy on Open Access, three new Read&Publish agreements have been signed by the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries with the publishers Cambridge University Press (CUP), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Taylor & Francis (T&F). These agreements allow EPFL researchers to get access to the publisher’s portfolio and to publish in Open Access free of charge, according to the conditions described below.
- Cambridge University Press (CUP)
A second three-year agreement with the publisher Cambridge University Press has been signed. This new agreement (2024-2026) allows EPFL affiliated authors to publish free of charge in hybrid and fully Open Access CUP journals without limitation on the number of articles.
The EPFL community has also access to the publisher’s Full Collection.
- Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
The first Read&Publish agreement established with the publisher Royal Society of Chemistry(2024-2026). From January 2024, EPFL affiliated authors can publish in Open Access in RSC hybrid journals free of charge, and without limitation on the number of articles. EPFL community is also granted with access to the entire RSC portfolio.
- Taylor & Francis (T&F)
An agreement with the publisher Taylor & Francis has been signed for 4 years (2024-2027). EPFL affiliated authors can publish in Gold Open Access free of charge in more than 2’500 Hybrid and Gold T&F journals with an increasing article quota covered by the agreement (702 articles in 2024, 716 in 2025, 730 in 2026, 745 in 2027). EPFL community is also entitled for an unlimited access to T&F Science & Technology and Social Science & Humanities collections.
