Allie and Johannes publish an up-to-date review on epigenetic processes in learning and memory that can be pharmacologically enhanced.

In "Cognitive epigenetic priming: Leveraging histone acetylation for memory amelioration” published in Current Opinion in Neurobiology, Allie and Johannes review the evidence in recent years that support the theory of cognitive epigenetic priming. This theory stipulates that certain drugs acting on the epigenome support naturally occurring epigenetic processes that are induced by learning, and thus target highly specific pathways in the brain, despite themselves being devoid of any target specificity.
