New PhD student at LIPID

Stephen Wasilewski joined forces with the LIPID team on February 1st, 2019. He is registered in the Doctoral Program in Civil and Environmental Engineering (EDCE).


Stephen Wasilewski has a MArch from the University of California, Berkeley and has 10 years of professional experience working as an architect and daylighting consultant. Prior to joining LIPID, Stephen spent the last five years working for Loisos + Ubbelohde, a design and high performance building consulting firm in Alameda, California. There his primary roles were as a daylight consultant and lighting simulation expert, developing advanced simulation techniques and workflows for the firm. He worked on many high profile projects for prominent architecture firms, including Gehry Partners, Bjarke Ingels Group, and Heatherwick Studio. His doctoral research will focus on developing new strategies for climate based spatio-temporal glare assessment. Stephen research is supported by an SNSF grant as part of a joint project with Hochschule Luzern – Technik & Architektur.
