Congratulations to Sandrine (S.) and Melanie for their latest publication.

Congratulations to Sandrine (S.) and Melanie for the publication of their recent comapartive work on natural competence in pandemic Vibrio cholerae strains.

With interesting new data on transformation inhibition based on PacBio-based long-read whole-genome seqeuncing coupled with strong bacterial genetics. Also insight into reproducibility issues that are caused by strain laboratory domestication events (not good!), different chitin sources sold under same product number from a commercial provider (not good; but interesting), and the presence of chromosomally-integrated mobile genetic elements (very interesting!).

Enjoy reading!
