NCEPU-EPFL Advanced Energy Research Workshop

On 28 – 31 Nov 2019, following the invitation of President Yongping Yang from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Dr. Yasmine Calisesi (Deputy Director of Energy Center at EPFL) led the EPFL EnergyPolis Delegation to a counter visit to NCEPU and a NCEPU-EPFL Advanced Energy Research Workshop. The EPFL delegation included also Prof. Mohammad Nazeeruddin, Prof. Francois Marechal, MER Jan Van herle, Prof. Hugh Middleton and Dr. Ligang Wang.
The workshop has attracted the attention of both the Swiss and Chinese Governments with the participation of Dr. Felix Moesner (CEO of Swissnex China and Science Consul of Swiss Consulate in Shanghai) and officers from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. During the workshop, NCEPU and EPFL have discussed the cooperation potential on education, research, and development, as well as technology transfer. The outcome of the workshop, China-Switzerland Research and Innovation Partnership in Renewable Energy – Distributed Energy Systems, will be submitted to MOST China as a candidate for future Sino-Swiss project calls.
The delegation also visited Beijing Future Science City, Low-Carbon Institute of China Energy Investment Corporation, Clean Technology Institute of China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., and had exchanges with their researchers. A wide range of cooperation opportunities has been identified and formulated.
