Nicole Widmer, a former master student at the Structural Xploration Lab, and Prof. Corentin Fivet (EPFL, SXL) are participating in the Eigth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering, organized by the IALCCE, July 2-6 2023, in Milano, Italy. N. Widmer is presenting the paper "Building structures made of reused cut reinforced concrete slabs and walls: a case study", co-authored with Maléna Bastien Masse (EPFL, SXL) and C. Fivet. The paper synthesizes the finding of her master's thesis completed last year, involving the optimum cutting of slabs and reassembly techniques with fibre-reinforced concrete. In addition, C. Fivet is co-organizing with Prof. Ornella Iuorio (U. of Leeds), a mini-symposium on "Component Reuse in Structures and Infrastructure". The mini-symposium gathers eleven original contributions from as many institutions.
