More people use their cars in Lausanne than in Geneva
The people of Lausanne take the car more often than the people of Geneva. This is a result of a study by the Laboratory of Urban Sociology at EPFL. Vincent Kaufmann explains the phenomenon by the structure of the two cities. "Geneva is a very dense city with the majority of jobs in the center. In Lausanne, a large proportion of jobs are located outside the city, less accessible by public transport, but with better parking facilities."
