We’ve done a little spring cleaning on Memento. The home pages have a new look and feel, and we’ve added some features.

Memento keeps getting better. Some of you may notice a few cosmetic changes, others will find the event details easier to read. And our visually impaired users will appreciate the changes made to enhance accessibility.

Here are the three main things we changed in our May 2023 upgrade:

Banner highlighting specific events

We added a new Highlights banner where you can feature up to three events on your Memento home page. Here’s how:

  • Go to “My mementos > Modify event announcements of memento”
  • Select “Order (memento/API/WordPress)”
  • Select the position you’d like the event to appear in (in memento/API/WordPress)

Improved search filters

We’ve also changed the way search filters appear. Gone is the column on the left; the search bar and sorting options, which have been updated, are now displayed horizontally across the page.

You also have more options to choose from for filtering search results, such as screening events by type of admission (registration required, free, etc.) or target audience (general public, informed public, etc.).

Live viewing in just one click

Do you broadcast talks, seminars and other events over Zoom? Once the meeting has started, a Watch Live button will be added automatically in Memento and on the event page, so users can join in quickly and easily.
