Improving the Power Density Through Magnetic Devices
Power Electronics Laboratory has entered into research collaboration with Hyosung from the Republic of Korea on a research topic related to design optimization of high-power medium/high frequency transformers. Multitude of power electronic converter topologies require transformers for galvanic isolation and voltage adaptation, impacting the overal power density of a system. Design optimization of these devices requires thorough considerations of various electric, magnetic, dielectric and thermal constraints, to name a few. Research project will explore these design constraints, considering specific family of DC-DC converters.
Hyosung is one of the key manufacturers of the industrial equipment and systems in the Republic of Korea.
