Anatomy, surgery and medicine: EPFL Library invites you to travel through the world of medical sciences and visit its new exhibition of ancient books on display at the Rolex Learning Center until February 2019.

Dedicated to the history of medical sciences for the period from the 16th to the 19th century, this exhibition of ancient books is articulated around a historical and scientific perspective. The rise of medicine can be explained by various factors. Influenced by humanism; reinvented anatomy becomes a quest for beauty and perfection. This was followed by the generalization of medical literature, the development of surgery and teaching, supplemented by numerous scientific contributions.

Visitors can discover an anthology of boards and medical objects from the past. Discover this exhibition, visible until February 2019! Don't forget that all the documents presented can be consulted upon request at EPFL Library.
