The m1 subway platform will undergo renovation work from 22 July to 25 August, which will result in many changes in your daily routine. The work is being undertaken during the summer period in order to minimize the disruption, as the timetables will be affected.

For 5 weeks, the south track (the one on the EPFL side) will be closed, and the subway traffic will only use a single track. We therefore strongly advise you to check that the train you are about to board is travelling in the desired direction.

The pedestrian access and the gangway crossing track 2 to access the center platform will be closed. Access to platform 1 (North Quarter side) will only be possible using the underpass.

SCHEDULE OF THE DISRUPTIONS:

  • From 22 July to 4 August inclusive: With the closing of track 2 and the center platform not permitting the trains to cross normally at the EPFL stop, the service frequency will be 10 minutes and the schedules will be changed accordingly.
  • From 5 to 9 August inclusive: The traffic will be halted on the whole line between Lausanne-Flon and Renens-Gare. A Métrobus service (MB) will be introduced to serve the entire line, except for the Provence and Bassenge stops.
  • From 10 to 25 August inclusive: The trains will circulate again on a single track (North Quarter side) the whole day until 22:00 pm. From 22:00 pm, the Métrobus service will provide the link between Renens-Gare and UNIL-Mouline, and the m1 service will run on the section UNIL-Mouline to Lausanne Flon.

During these periods, when all the passengers are using the same platform, please be very careful and, as far as possible, be patient.

The m1 service will return to its normal schedule for the new school year, from 26 August 2013.

The schedules will be displayed at all the m1 subway stations and Métrobus stops. The QR codes will enable you to track the movement of the vehicles in real time, just like in the application tl Live.

The renovation work will enable the campus to benefit from an entirely refurbished subway station, also providing a better experience for the users of the EPFL North Quarter and, in particular, visitors to the new congress center, the Swiss Tech Convention Center whose inauguration is planned for Spring 2014.
