M. Bastien Masse talks at Umea School of Architecture

On November 10th, Dr. Malena Bastien-Masse, Structural Xploration Lab, was invited by Prof. Ferdinand Oswald to give a talk to the students of Umea School of Architecture in Sweden, in the context of their Architecture Technology class. Dr. Bastien-Masse introduced the concepts of reusing building components as a strategy to reduce the impacts of construction. She then focused on concrete component reuse and the latest research results from Structural Xploration Lab. The students showed interest for the topic through various questions on feasibility and environmental impacts.
