EG-ICE - June 11, 2018 - Lausanne.

Jan Brütting and Corentin Fivet are participating at the 25thInternational Workshop on Intelligent Computing in Engineering held from June 10th to 13th in Lausanne.

The conference is organized by the European Group for Intelligent Computing in Engineering (EG-ICE), a multi-disciplinary working group that focuses on computing in science and engineering.

Jan Brütting will be presenting a paper on “Optimization Formulations for the Design of Low Embodied Energy Structures made from Reused Elements” which was co-authored with Gennaro Senatore and Corentin Fivet. The paper proposes new optimization methods for the design of truss structures from a stock of reclaimed components. The aim of this method is to facilitate reuse in the design of structures in order to reduce their embodied environmental impacts.

The paper will be published as a chapter in the book “Advanced Computing Strategies in Engineering” as part of the Springer series “Lecture Notes in Computer Science”.

Also on Monday afternoon, Corentin Fivet is co-charing a session with Nora El-Gohary.
