LMIS1 recently participated to ECOSS36 conference in Lodz, with one poster presentation by Pol Torres Vila.

This year, the 36th edition of European Conference on Surface Science (ECOSS) took place in Lodz, from August 28th to September 1st. Such an conference is a well-established annual meeting which provides an excellent opportunity for scientists from all over the world to meet and discuss the latest advances in the physics and chemistry of surfaces, mainly focusing on heterogeneous catalysis, organic molecular nano-architectures, two-dimensional materials and graphene, nanoelectronics, bio-nanoscience and functional and energy materials studied both using theoretical and experimental methods.

LMIS1 actively participated to the event with one poster presentation by Pol Torres Vila, entitled "Towards Single Ion Doping Using Chemical Surface Modification". His research addresses a critical challenge in quantum computing: introducing ions into silicon crystals. In the presented work, a cost-effective method known as monolayer doping (MLD) is explored. This approach consists in depositing a monolayer of molecules containing the desired dopant directly onto silicon surfaces, ending up by thermally diffusing the ions into the silicon bulk.
