LEMR welcomes Dr. Lucas Pimienta

Dr. Pimienta is a Marie Curie fellow joining the Laboratory of Experimental Rock Mechanics at EPFL.
His research interest span the physics and chemistry of rocks, both from an experimental and theoretical point of view. Over the years, he has investigated elastic and poroelastic, hydraulic, thermal and electric properties in rocks. For application purposes, he has a particular interest in sedimentary rocks that are complex geo-materials saturated by different fluids. Those rocks have a major socio-economical importance as they are important targets for O&G industry, Geothermal energy or CO2 geological storage.
