Mechanical Engineering students at EPFL have an impact in the kitchen

Mechanical engineering students participated in their capstone integrated engineering design projects through the section of mechanical engineering (SGM) in their final semester of the bachelor's degree. The students worked in teams to solve problems encountered in the kitchen. One team built a machine that automatically poaches eggs, while another perfected the art of pouring beer by machine. The working prototypes were demonstrated in front of an audience from throughout the section, and the teams were supported by several labs on campus, from Profs. Pedro Reis, Selman Sakar and Tobias Schneider, as well as EMSI's own John Kolinski.

A second iteration of the successful first offering will be offered in the Spring semester of 2020. EPFL's mechanical engineering students will expand their impact in the kitchen.
