Jury Chairman of the Contest "L'Esquisse verte" in Paris

After Jean Nouvel, Françoise-Hélène Jourda, Philippe Madec and André De Herde, Professor Emmanuel Rey, of the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST), has been chosen to chair the Jury of the 5th edition of the Contest "L'Esquisse verte" in Paris.

"L'Esquisse verte" is a contest organised for those students enrolled in one of the seven architectural schools of Île-de-France by the Regional Agency for environment and new energies (ARENE) and the Agency for environment and energy control (ADEME), in order to encourage the creative and critical, the cultural and practical openness, integrating issues of sustainability into the architectural design.

The contest rewards the best projects which, on the scale of a district or a building, combine in an inventive and consistent manner environmental aspects and architectural issues in a sustainable development perspective. For this edition, the theme considered “Climate, resources and architecture” puts an accent on a spatial approach promoting a sustainable management of the climate and an adequate use of resources serving people’s quality of life.
