Joan Rey successfully completed his PhD Thesis
Joan Rey recently completed his PhD thesis entitled "Assessment of methods for radon detection in buildings".
Joan's thesis addresses the critical challenge of accurately measuring indoor radon, a carcinogenic radioactive gas. His work evaluates the reliability of passive dosimeters and real-time devices in both lab and real-world settings, while also exploring the potential and limitations of predictive models for radon levels.
This work, a collaboration between EPFL ENAC and the College of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg at the Smart Living Lab, was co-supervised by Prof. Joëlle Goyette Pernot and Prof. Dusan Licina, marking a significant step forward in radon assessment.
The HOBEL lab congratulates Dr. Rey on this outstanding achievement and wishes him continued success in future endeavors.
