We introduced a new electronic billing process for tuition fees, starting with the 2016 fall semester. So far over 4,500 bills have been sent out electronically and 13% of them have already been paid online. We will no longer send out hard copies of bills – saving us considerable time. We will also no longer send out registration confirmation letters until the corresponding tuition fees have been paid. Camipro cards similarly won’t be renewed for the following semester until that semester’s fees have been paid.
Another major development this year is the introduction of a new course scheduling system, installed in time for the 2016–2017 school year. Thanks to an easier-to-use interface and several new features, the Registrar’s Office can now schedule course times more efficiently than ever.
One recommendation that came out of a 2015 audit by the ETH Board was to add a feature in IS-Academia that makes it possible to specify a reason for changes to a student’s grades or admission status. We therefore added this feature in June, working closely with the Registrar’s Office.
