The Centre Pompidou is looking for an architecture student for a 4-month internship as part of a project to inventory and process thousands of architectural drawings by Piano+Rogers Architects.
Context
On the eve of the largest architectural transformation ever undertaken on the building, scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2030, the Centre's presidency has launched a vast project dedicated to rediscovering and promoting the history of this establishment.
As part of this project, the Centre Pompidou wishes to process the collection of architectural plans produced by Piano+Rogers Architects for the design and construction of the building. This public archive is currently housed in 400 preservation tubes. The collection consists of thousands of sketches, technical drawings, prototypes, construction details and coordination plans intended for the contractors involved in completing a work recognised as one of the manifestos of 20th-century architecture.
Conditions
This paid internship is aimed at architecture students with a bachelor's or master's degree.
Duration: From April to July 2024, 4 months full-time (35 hours) or part-time with a minimum of 3 days per week.
Application deadline: 24 March 2024
Location: MNAM-CCI, Centre Pompidou
N.B.: The type of tasks to be carried out during this internship make it incompatible with the regulations for the internship required to gain access to the Master's programme. It cannot therefore be validated as part of the mandatory internship.
