MVDC Electrical Power System for Marine Applications
Power Electronics Laboratory has entered into a research collaboration with HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) from the Republic of Korea on a research topic related to marine MVDC electrical power systems. Innovative eco-friendly ship technology development project, bringing together several industrial and academic partners: Entec Electric & Electronic, Pactech, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI), Korea Maritime & Ocean University, Kookmin University, Hanyang University, as well as the EPFL. The project objectives are the development of a 20MW-class 10kV high-power MVDC system for mid-to-large ships.
HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering is a leading global company in the shipbuilding and offshore industries, recognized for its advanced technology, extensive experience, and strong R&D capabilities. The company is based in Seongnam and Ulsan, South Korea.
