Innosuisse: Election of additional experts
Innosuisse is the federal funding agency for science-based innovation. It promotes innovation projects between research centres and companies, supports start-ups and links up industry and science through specific measures involving knowledge and technology transfer.
New elections and re-elections are to be held in order to expand the existing pool of experts with specialists who have knowledge and experience in both science and industry as well as an outstanding track record in science-based innovation. These experts support the Innovation Council, the body responsible for decisions on applications, the evaluation of the funding applications submitted and in the monitoring of funded projects. In order to carry out this public mandate, it is assumed that the largely flexible time commitment will amount to around 5% to 15% of a full-time workload. Interested applicants should be knowledgeable in one or more of the areas of competence listed in this web page
The experts work for Innosuisse in a public mandate. Their compensation is governed by the Innosuisse Compensation Ordinance. "Per-case flat rates" are applied. In principle, experts can be deployed up to a maximum of 20% of a full-time workload and for an annual compensation of a maximum of CHF 30,000. Generally, deployment is closer to 10%. The percentage depends both on the number of applications received as well as on the individual availability of the experts. Innosuisse’s Compensation Ordinance also governs the further terms of the contract. Furthermore, the Innosuisse Act requires that the experts disclose their interests. The form to be filled in for this purpose contains further information. By law, the experts are subject to professional confidentiality.
Interested applicants should fill in the application form and submit it together with the additionally requested documents to the following address by 31 May 2020: [email protected].
According to the current plan, the experts are to be elected by the end of 2020 and will take up their functions on 1 January 2021, provided that the election process can be carried out and completed according to plan.
