Inductive Low-Power Transfer with High Insulation Capabilities

The Power Electronics Laboratory has received funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) for the project "Inductive Low-Power Transfer with High-Insulation Capabilities". There are many applications in power electronics that require a relatively modest amount of power to be transferred over the large voltage barrier. Inductive Power Transfer systems can be used for those applications, but require coordinated design optimization considering electrical, magnetic, dielectric, and thermal constraints. Over the next four years, we will be addressing these challenges, with goals to maximize the performances of these systems for their practical use in real industrial applications.
