The Gaznat chair on Geo-Energy soon hosts the "Hydraulic fracturing – Myths & Realities" workshop for decision-makers, regulators, NGOs, project engineers, geologists, and geophysicists. This first-of-its-kind two-day Workshop on the EPFL campus just opened its registration, which is open until the 7th of May. Taking place on the 8th and 9th of June 2023, this informative Workshop is a unique opportunity to get answers about hydraulic fracturing from leading world experts in the field.

The first half-day of the workshop will be dedicated to a general overview of the process, its efficiency, common risks & case studies, followed by two additional half-days with more in-depth discussions of key technical sub-topics (equipment, materials, design, field studies etc.). Participants can register either for the first introductory half-day or the complete duration of the workshop. The speakers will bring more than 100 years of experience of the experience in the research, development and engineering deployments of the technology in a wide array of applications – from hydrocarbon reservoirs and block caving mining to deep geothermal systems.
