On 1 January 2027, Guilaine Baud-Vittoz will take up her new role as Director of the EPFL Library and Archives, after serving as Head of the Academic and Research Support Unit. She will succeed Isabelle Eula, who will step down after six years at the helm of the Library.

Currently Head of the Academic and Research Support Unit at EPFL Library, Guilaine has developed extensive expertise in user services, teaching and research support, scholarly publishing, open science, and the challenges and opportunities associated with artificial intelligence.

In her new role, Guilaine will be responsible for building on the development of the EPFL Library and Archives and further strengthening their contribution to the School’s education, research and innovation missions.

Isabelle Eula will retire on 31 March 2027. Under her leadership, the Library has undergone a significant transformation, expanding its role in supporting education and research, establishing the EPFL Archives, and strengthening its national and international profile. EPFL will have the opportunity to recognize her contribution more fully as her official retirement date approaches.

The transition period between Guilaine taking up her new role on 1 January 2027 and Isabelle’s departure will ensure a smooth handover, while enabling Guilaine to fully assume her new responsibilities.
