The Neuro X Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Grégoire Courtine as its new Director.

As of January 2025, Professor Grégoire Courtine will take over as the new director of the tri-school Neuro X Institute. He is committed to the interdisciplinary vision of the Institute, which integrates expertise from the EPFL Schools of Life Sciences (SV), Computer and Communication Sciences (IC), and Engineering (STI) to advance neurotechnology and neuroscience research.

The Neuro X community extends its heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Director, School of Engineering professor Stéphanie P. Lacour, whose leadership has guided the Institute since its inception in 2022 as an EPFL strategic initiative: the alliance of neurosciences, neuroengineering and neurocomputation for medicine. Under her stewardship, the Institute has established itself as a hub for innovative research and collaboration, laying a strong foundation for future advancements in the field. Professor Lacour will continue to be an active member of the Institute and have it within her field of action as the new EPFL Vice President for Support to Strategic Initiatives (VPS).
