The architect Pierre Bonnet was the guest of Prof. Emmanuel Rey’s studio at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST). Entitled « Fructus » and based on the eponymous book recently published by Editions Infolio, his lecture allowed students to discover many housing and offices operations, being developed and implemented in the Geneva area.

For the Atelier Bonnet, the crossover from one scale to another, from furniture to urban space, from city to housing, and vice versa, is an opportunity to contribute to thinking and question the preconceived ideas. From the great landscape to the immediate environment of constructed buildings, close ties are created between the large and the small scale, a filiation between the large and the small projects and, more generally, a subtle bond between the different programs tested.

From the urban units in the great landscape of the Communaux d'Ambilly to student housing in the interstices of the city center, the conference allowed students to discover various project-based approaches, which resonate with the issues addressed in the RHODANIE URBAINE studio.

These various approaches are developed in the context of a vast changing urban territory. They made it possible to put into perspective the questions of conceptual coherence and architectural imaginary with issues related to morphology, relationships with the landscape, the inclusion of different lifestyles, search for spatial qualities and tailor-made architectural expression.
