PVlab member Frank Meyer get the second price in the best scientific poster competition at the 18th national PV congress. His poster advertized last innovation in the field of passivating contacts.
The poster shows the last innovations in the research field of passivating contacts. The first part explains an alternative method to hydrogenate these contacts through a TCO with a cell demonstrator with a conversion efficiency of 22.8%. The second part demonstrates the feasibility of the growth of thick passivating contacts on textured surfaces for direct metallization applications. The first demonstrator shows a conversion efficiency of 19.4 % limited by a low current density due to parasitic absorptions in the thick front contact. Preliminary results of localization during PECVD are also presented as a solution to avoid the current losses.
