A fire broke out late Friday, August 28, on the east facade of EPFL Pavilions, near Pavilion A. The building was empty, and no one was injured. Pavilion A will be available again at the start of the 2027 academic year.
The alarm was raised shortly before 6 p.m. EPFL’s emergency response teams, followed by the fire department, responded quickly and contained the fire.
The fire damaged part of the wooden facade, its structure, and the roof. No damage was found inside the building, aside from smoke and odors.
Inspections and safety measures for the damaged areas were initiated following the response.
Work on the Double Deck construction site is proceeding as normal, and repairs to the EPFL Pavilions will begin shortly. Pavilion A is expected to be available again by the start of the 2027 academic year.
