Coherent Oscillations in an Exciton-Polariton Josephson Junction.
Josephson oscillations are a very interesting quantum effect that has been used in many interesting devices such as squid magnetic detectors. They appear as possible solutions for quantum computing devices. In this paper, the group of Prof. Benoît Deveaud-Plédran (LOEQ – Laboratory of Quantum Optoelectronics) very nicely evidence Josephson oscillations between two polariton condensates (polaritons are half light half electron quasiparticle). This might bring Josephson oscillations from very low temperatures to room temperature.
