ETHOS welcomes postdoctoral scientist Matteo Favero
Matteo Favero joined ETHOS in February 2023 as a postdoctoral research scientist. He received his PhD degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi), Italy.
Matteo’s research has been focused on investigating how indoor thermal conditions may be modulated without jeopardising the occupant’s thermal comfort. Through an experimental study, his previous work explored the human reaction to monotonic thermal variations. Subsequently, he developed a model that predicts the thermal preference vote of human subjects exposed to a dynamic thermal environment. In addition, he also designed two procedures to implement these predictions in the context of occupant-centric building design and operation. Most recently, Matteo has been developing Bayesian-based personalised thermal comfort models for inferential purposes.
