ERC Consolidator Grants awarded to five EPFL academics

These grants support with approximately 2 million EUR over 5 years highly promising mid-career scientists of any nationality and any field.
Congratulations to Olga Fink, Charlotte Grossiord, Sophia Haussener, Maryam Kamgarpour and Li Tang!
This competition attracted 3,121 proposals, which were reviewed by panels of internationally renowned researchers. 349 proposals were selected for a total funding worth €728M.
The selected six EPFL research projects under the program span a broad range of topics:.
Olga Fink at the Intelligent Maintenance and Operations Systems (IMOS) Lab (ENAC) for the project “Longevity-focused health management of complex engineered systems (HEROES)”
Charlotte Grossiord at the Plant Ecology Research Laboratory PERL Lab (ENAC) for the project "Trouble in the air: How European forests keep their cool under atmospheric drought (COOL)"
Sophia Haussener at the Laboratory of Renewable Energy Science and Engineering (LRESE) (STI) for the project "Democratization of Solar Renewable Energy Adapted for the New Millennium (DREAM)"
Maryam Kamgarpour at the Systems Control and Multiagent Optimization Research Lab (STI) for the project "Control for Safety-Constrained Interactive Systems (CONCISE)"
Li Tang at the Laboratory of Biomaterials for Immunoengineering (STI) for the project "Mechanical sensing and reprogramming of CAR-engineered lymphocytes for next-generation ACT cancer immunotherapy (MechanoCAR)"
