Call 1: Sensory Disorders (deadline for pre-proposals: 10 March 2020).
Call 2: Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects (ELSA) of Neuroscience (deadline for proposals: 28 April 2020).

The ERA-NET NEURON is a consortium of research funding organisations supporting basic, clinical and translational research in the diverse fields of disease-related neuroscience. Supported research aims to better understand brain diseases and their progression in order to pave the way for new or improved routes for diagnosis and therapy. The consortium is supported by the EU’s H2020 programme.

Every year, the participating funding organisations (incl. SNSF) launch annual calls to support multinational, collaborative research projects on disease-related neuroscience.

In 2020, ERA-NET NEURON has launched 2 calls:

  • on Sensory Disorders and their impact on the nervous system.
  • on Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects (ELSA) of Neuroscience.

For Swiss-based applicants, the SNSF has allocated CHF 1M for 3-4 projects for the call on Sensory Disorders and CHF 900K for approx. 3 projects for the call on Neuroethics. Grants will be awarded for up to 36 months.

Swiss-based applicants must be eligible for SNSF Project Funding (see EPFL Instructions for SNSF Project Funding) and cannot participate in more than one proposal per call.

If interested in the call on Sensory Disorders, please submit your pre-proposal by 10 March 2020.

If interested in the call on Neurotechics, please submit your proposal by 28 April 2020.

Swiss applicants must submit their proposal via mySNF at the same deadline as the consortium application is submitted to the Call Secretariat via the NEURON electronic submission system.
