EPFL has issued its decision regarding the events that took place at Vivapoly. After reviewing the case and hearing from the students involved, the School has issued a formal warning while opting not to impose disciplinary sanctions.

After reviewing the facts and allowing those involved to state their case, and taking into account the recommendation of the investigative body (consisting of Legal Affairs, a student representative and a representative of the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs), EPFL has determined that the acts in question (see EPFL’s response to the events at Vivapoly) were inappropriate at an EPFL-related event and were injurious to those members of the EPFL community who were directly targeted by the remarks – that is, members of the Shalom association.

In an effort to calm the situation, while at the same time recognizing the legitimacy of the emotions surrounding the conflict that inspired the protest, EPFL has decided to not impose disciplinary measures on this occasion. However, it has issued a warning to the students in question. They were informed of that decision today in a face-to-face discussion. This decision, like all EPFL decisions, can be appealed to the relevant bodies.
