On Tuesday, Claude Nicollier, astrophysicist and first Swiss in space, honored us with his presence at the weekly "Happy Hour" at EPFL Innovation Park. Invited by the Swiss Space Center and the Vice Presidency for Innovation, the reputation of the Swiss astronaut attracted many employees from the Innovation Park companies and start-ups of the but also a fair part of the campus. In a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, Claude Nicollier shared some anecdotes from his trips in space with us and was game: shooting selfies, exchanging cards and handshakes.
For this very special occasion, the Space Beer could be tasted. Developed by scientists from the Institute for Medical Engineering of the High School of Luzern, this craft beer is made with yeast cells grown without gravity.
The weekly Happy Hour is organised by the Vice Presidency for Innovation and sponsored by companies from the Park. Soft drinks and beer are offered to enhance networking between EPFL Innovation Park companies and start-up as well as EPFL staff. We look forward to seing you every Tuesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at PUUR in Building J at the Innovation Park.
