The first experimentation with users have been undertaken in the new Fribourg test rooms.
The newly constructed test room made for user experimentation have had its first test-run with human test subjects.

The newly constructed test room made for user experimentation have had its first test-run with human test subjects. These were conducted in collaboration with the Building 2050 research group focusing on low carbon façade design. The study ran sidelong with the studies of Arianna Brambilla.

During September and October experiments investigating user perception of glare in a controlled office environment were carried out. The experiments were done as a pilot study for future experiments investigating contrast glare and its influence on glare perception in an office like setting. It was also a trail of the new test rooms functionality as a test-bench for experiments involving human subjects. Furthermore, were the protocols, measurement equipment and questionnaires assessed for their applicability in future glare experiments.

The experiments went well with positive feedback from the test subjects and with important lessons learned about the facility’s usability in experimental trials involving human tests subjects.

The test room and equipment acquisition system was financed by the Building 2050 research group. Visit their webpage on: http://building2050.epfl.ch/.
