Ensuring your research visibility in Infoscience

As the academic report season approaches, it is important that all your research works are properly reported and submitted in Infoscience, the institutional platform dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of EPFL scientific publications. Infoscience is the official source of publications referenced in the Annual Academic Report (AAR), and it’s also used to feed most publication lists on people and laboratory web pages.
Why is this essential?
Infoscience provides profiles for each researcher (e.g. researcher profile) as well as for each unit or laboratory (e.g. laboratory profile), enabling rapid access to publications. Keeping these profiles up to date ensures optimal visibility for your work, which is crucial for your research activities and collaborations.
To support you, the Library Infoscience team have created practical guides:
Three simple steps to automatically enrich your Infoscience profile
To reduce the submission workload for researchers, the Infoscience team regularly imports data from trusted bibliographic databases, such as Web of Science and Scopus. The accuracy and exhaustiveness of these imports depend on the completeness of your profiles. Therefore, we recommend following these 3 steps:
Link your ORCID ID (if you don’t have one yet, create a new one) to your EPFL account via the dedicated ORCID Integration at EPFL.
- Your ORCID will be automatically linked to your profiles on people.epfl.ch and infoscience.epfl.ch, facilitating the automatic retrieval of your publications.
- Visit our webpage dedicated to the use of ORCIDAdd your Scopus and Web of Science (Researcher ID) identifiers to your Infoscience profile
- Find your Scopus ID: Lookup Scopus Author ID
- Retrieve your Web of Science Researcher ID: Lookup Researcher IDSpecify any spelling variants of your name in your Infoscience profile
If your name is published with variations (e.g. with or without initials, multiple surnames), report them in your profile to prevent any omissions.
