Energy geo-structures have been dedicated an article in the journal Immorama following Professor Lyesse Laloui’s speech last November at the Cercle Littéraire. A few months back, Professor Laloui has once again presented the merits of energy geo-structures, and how they are revolutionizing our constructions by directly harnessing the renewable energy buried beneath our buildings, that had remained thus far overlooked. Immorama takes pride in proposing to its readers the latest innovations related to real estate, architecture, urban planning and the environment, which makes energy geo-structures a topic of major interest, especially when considering the current context of Swiss buildings and energy transitions. Amidst ever-more densifying cities, adapting transportation systems and energy transitions, the potential of geo-structures, developed and refined for now over 20 years at EPFL, cannot be overstated. This emerging technology still remains to be largely implemented in Swiss industry and large-scale projects, despite the country being an international pioneer, contributing with abundant research related to energy geo-structures.
