Bachelor students in architecture, civil engineering and environmental engineering from ENAC, EPFL, joined the smart living lab in Fribourg this Monday morning for an intensive one-week workshop on reuse. Each group has one week and one goal: build a bike rack where a minimum of five bikes can be locked, while using reclaimed material only. The week is divided in three steps: material collection, construction and demonstration. Resourcefullness and openmindness will be key to succeed. Each project will be judged on Friday according to its functionality, repeatability, robustness and economic cost. Besides, a set of lectures on life-cycle assessment and circular economy is punctuating the week.

Prof. Corentin Fivet (SXL) is heading the workshop together with Pierre Mariotte (ECOS) and Endrit Hoxha (SXL).
