Power electronics solutions for flexibility in distribution grids

Power Electronics Laboratory together with Rauscher & Stoecklin, has received funding from the Innosuisse.

The On Load Tap Changers, relying on mechanical operational principles, are widely spread technology in distribution networks, providing necessary voltage regulation in varying network conditions. The project will explore the feasibility of developing a semiconductor-based solution.

R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin, founded in 1919, is a well-established manufacturer of transformers and other electrical equipment. The company is based in Sissach, Switzerland.
