Congratulations to Dr Goutham Gopalakrishna and Dr Philippe van der Beck for obtaining the EDFI Doctoral Program Thesis Distinction
Each year, a distinction is granted to a selection of very high quality theses, in order to highlight the doctoral candidates’ research work and their scientific merit. The 2023 laureats for the EDFI, The doctoral program in Finance are:
Goutham GOPALAKRISHNA – former PhD student at the Swiss Finance Institute @EPFL for his thesis: "Essays in macro-finance and deep learning" supervised by Prof. Pierre Collin-Dufresne.
Dr Gopalakrishna works now at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor of Finance (tenure-track).
Philippe VAN DER BECK – former PhD student at the Swiss Finance Institute @EPFL for his thesis: "Demand-based Asset Pricing: Theory, Estimation and Applications" supervised by Prof. Pierre Collin-Dufresne.
Dr van der Beck works now at Havard Business School as an Assistant Professor in Finance as well as an academic consultant for Capital Fund Management (France).
