ECOSUIZA - Sustainable Architecture and Construction Days

The first edition of ECOSUIZA, an exchange and cooperation platform between Switzerland and Argentina was held in Córdoba, Rosario and Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 17th to 21st September 2012. Maria Gracia Riera Pérez, assistant and PhD student at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST), was invited to present her research work on the evaluation of urban neighborhoods renewal in a sustainable perspective.

Organized by the Swiss Embassy in Argentina and with the support of the EISA Foundation (Espacio de Intercambio Suizo Argentino), this first edition focused more particularly on sustainable architecture and construction. A series of conferences, expositions and debates were held on this occasion in the cities of Buenos Aires, Rosario and Córdoba.

The aim of the ECOSUIZA platform is to principally promote the transfer of competences between various actors of the built environment - experts, practitioners, academic institution or public collectivity representatives. The topics concerned in particular bioclimatic buildings, sustainable neighborhoods, high environmental quality, green technologies, renewable energy, sustainable mobility, certification procedures and steps to promote energy efficiency.

In this frame, the 17th September Maria Gracia Riera Pérez presented her conference entitled "Urbanismo sustentable. Instrumentos de evaluación" at the Universidad Catòlica de Córdoba, and the 19th September at "La Casa de Gobierno de Santa Fe". For the conclusion of this event, she has also participated in the roundtable discussion at the Faculty of architecture of the University of Buenos Aires.

The other speakers involved in this first edition of ECOSUIZA were in particular: Ignacio Dahl Rocha, Eduardo Barseghian, Alfredo Tapia, Enrique Zurita, François Guisan Siordet, Matías Dinardi, Santiago Pages, Arno Schlüter, Catherine Bolle, Paulino Maldonado, Fernando Diez, Carlos Bondoni, Silvana Codina, Isabel Martinez de San Vicente, Raúl Utgés et Francisco Quijano.
