Prof. Martin Fröhlich and Dr. Tiago P. Borges participated in the II Meeting of Navarra: The Housing We Want.

Organized by the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad and endorsed by the Government of Navarra, the second edition of Navarra Meetings convened architects, sociologists, economists, and public-sector housing professionals at local, regional, national, and European scales to analyze and propose strategies for contemporary housing issues.

Under the theme “Living Room or Room for Living,” Tiago P. Borges, lecturer and educator at Laboratory EPFL, presented results from his research on domestic space and greenhouses. The presentation focused particularly on the work of Log Id, a German architecture practice that has developed practice-based research projects on greenhouse spaces and solar architecture. Prof. Martin Fröhlich presented the Spore Initiative (AFF Architekten) as a case study that expands the notion of living space within institutional and public programmes. The Spore building, nominated for the EUmies Award 2024, was recently distinguished with the BDA Preis 2024, the DAM Preis 2025, and the Polis Award 2025. The work developped at Laboratory EAST and at the design studio Greenhouse Studies was also highlighted. The second edition of Navarra Meetings - The Housing We Want - drew significant interest from local authorities and the media.

The Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad is a non-profit cultural organisation that has promoted architecture as a tool for social change for 15 years.
