Drazen Dujic and Jamie Paik win Nagamori Awards

At a ceremony held on September 6th, School of Engineering professors Drazen Dujic and Jamie Paik both received awards from the Nagamori Foundation for their contributions to research on motor technology and related fields.
The 12th Nagamori Awards Ceremony was held in Kyoto, Japan. EPFL School of Engineering professors Drazen Dujic and Jamie Paik were among six Nagamori Award winners for 2026.
Awarded by the Nagamori Foundation, the goal of the Nagamori Awards is to support research related to motors, actuators and power generators, as well as their control methods and applications. Winners each receive 3 million yen (approximately CHF 15,600).
Professor Dujic, head of the Power Electronics Laboratory, was selected "for the industrial and research work in the field of the medium-voltage high-power solid state
transformers." Professor Paik, head of the Reconfigurable Robotics Lab, was selected for her work on MIROS: "Multi-scale interactive reconfigurable origami surface enabling full-body haptic experiences for human connection."
