Congratulations! On behalf of EPFL’s Soil Mechanics laboratory (LMS), we are thrilled to announce that our post-doc scientist, Dimitrios Terzis, is in this year’s Forbes European Class of 30 Under 30, in the category Industry and Manufacturing.

Dimitrios, after finishing his Ph.D. in our laboratory, launched MeduSoil, an EPFL spinoff which produces sustainable materials for underground construction and environmental works that can resist erosion and other natural hazards by combining elements of technical innovation, economic efficiency and environmental responsibility. Out of thousands of nominations, the achievements of Dimitrios were recognized by the editors and expert industry judges of the prestigious Forbes magazine and placed him in the world’s most impactful community of young entrepreneurs and game-changers. This list includes innovators like Daniel Ek, Kevin Systrom, Florence Pugh, Dev Patel – and now, our collaborator. We wish him and the team of MeduSoil lots of success in this exciting journey which was born in our laboratory and currently envisions disrupting an industry which hasn’t been disrupted in decades!
