Dr. Hanna Türk Receives the esteemed Otto Hahn Medal
Congratulations Hanna, for receiving the prestigious Otto Hahn medal!
Dr. Hanna Türk, who completed her PhD at the Fritz Haber Institute, at the end of 2022 with a thesis entitled: “Active Site Generation and Deactivation of the Air Electrode in High Temperature Solid Oxide Cells”, has been awarded the prestigious Otto Hahn Medal by the Max Planck Society for her outstanding research on the atomic-scale degradation mechanism of working interfaces in solid oxide electrolysers. Her work has significantly advanced the understanding of electrode degradation, a key barrier to the commercial adoption of solid oxide cell-based energy storage systems.
Since April 2023, Hanna is a PostDoc in the COSMO Lab, supported by the Walter Benjamin Fellowship, continuing her pioneering work on energy materials using machine learning based models to study the reaction of solid electrolyte materials with water.
