Dr. Florian Jaton wins the “Société Académique Vaudoise” prize
Florian Jaton is a PhD student that was funded by a SNF (Swiss National Science Foundation) DOC.CH grant. This type of funding requires two supervisors from two different universities. Prof. Dominique Vinck from UNIL was his main supervisor and Prof. Sabine Süsstrunk from EPFL was his co-supervisor.
Dr. Jaton’s thesis “The Constitution of Algorithms: Ground-Truthing, Programming, Formulating” won the Société Académique Vaudoise prize for his thesis which was “bold and whose clarity and mastery of the analytical process are exceptional and which, thanks to a rigorous investigation, a demanding research and lively writing, constitutes a major contribution to the social study of the digital world”.
