Dr Bubacarr Bah elected Humbolt Chair Faculty at AIMS South Africa
LIONS' alumni, Dr Bubacarr Bah, has been elected holder of the German Research Chair in ‘Mathematics with Specialization in Data Science’ at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in South Africa.
LIONS' alumni, Dr Bubacarr Bah, has been elected holder of the German Research Chair in ‘Mathematics with Specialization in Data Science’ at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in South Africa. The nomination came from Humboldt Foundation.
The German Research Chair in “Mathematics with Specialization in Data Science” at AIMS South Africa was established under the program financed by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) entitled “German Research Chairs” and intended as a long-term contribution to strengthening mathematical higher education and research in Africa, in particular to promoting international networking in mathematics. Dr Bubaccarr will relocate to South Africa in October. He has been working for the last two years as postdoc in the at the Mathematics Department at the University of Texas at Austin, USA working with Professor Rachel Ward.
